What Is the Lotus Tea Experience?
The Lotus Tea Experience at Trà Việt is a 60-minute, hands-on Vietnamese cultural experience centered around Vietnamese tea and the tradition of lotus tea.
During the experience, you’ll learn about Vietnamese tea culture, taste Vietnamese tea and West Lake lotus tea, see how fresh lotus flowers are used in lotus tea making, and then take part in the process yourself.
The highlight is making your own lotus tea by hand. With guidance from our tea team, you’ll put tea inside a fresh lotus flower and carefully wrap the flower in lotus leaf.
You then take the lotus flower you prepared home with you as a unique souvenir from Vietnam.
No previous knowledge of tea is required.

You’ll receive a fresh lotus flower and take part in the process yourself.
With guidance from our tea team, you’ll carefully place tea inside the flower and then wrap it with lotus leaf.
You are not simply watching a tea artist prepare the flower. You prepare your own lotus flower by hand.
5. Take your Lotus flower home
At the end of the experience, you can take the lotus flower you prepared home with you.
It is more than a souvenir you bought in a shop. It is something you made yourself during your time in Vietnam.

Beautiful Introduction to Vietnamese Tea Culture
We had been looking for a proper introduction to Vietnamese tea after enjoying it so often at restaurants, and the Lotus Tea Show turned out to be the perfect experience.
If we could add one suggestion, it would be wonderful to include an additional tasting of different Vietnamese teas (such as green tea, ginger tea, or rice tea) as described in the guidebook, along with traditional tea snacks like mung bean cake or lotus seeds. An extra course like that would make the experience even richer.

Helena explained the history of lotus tea, how it has been made for centuries and showed me how to brew it. And then after tasting it, i could brew it myself in the traditional way. We had an amazing cultural experience learning about Vietnamese tea. We discovered the history and traditions behind tea in Vietnam, as well as how to prepare it properly.
